History

In mid-2009 the company completed an extensive investment and launched operation of new production facilities in recontructed Steelworks, annealling department, finishing department and particularly in new forge with a new forging press STG 4000.

In November 1999 the company was bought by company Scholz Stahlzentrum - Ost from a businessman Zdeněk Zemek. Poldi Hütte was found as a subsidiary of a parent company Scholz Edelstahl GmbH. Scholz company was the first owner who succeeded in stabilising of the damaged and bankruptcy affected company.

The company was named Poldi Hütte ad as a Czech company it is a part of German concern Scholz AG.

In 1969 first surgical sets started to be produced from rustproof steel.

In 1930 Poldi materials MAXIMUM a POLDI TENAX  were used for building of Harbour Bridge in Sydney.

In 1909 steel from Poldi was used for construction of automobile Blitzen Benz. This car created a world speed record of 211,51 kph.

On 18/07/1893 a trademark in the form of a profile of silver female head with a fivebeamed star above her forehead and in the green oval was patented.

In the same year product from Poldi factory was at the highest placings at world exhibition in Chicago.

On 30.7.1889 Huť Poldi was established.
Huť Poldi was found by Karl Wittgenstein in the neighbourhood of Vojtěšská works.
Karl Wittgenstein called this factory Poldina Huť in honour of his wife Leopoldine.
